MONEY FOR DOMINIONS.
LOAN'S FROM BRITAIN*.
NEW ZEALAND'S SHARE.
London. October -Js.
The Hon. T. .Mackenzie, High Commissioner for New Zealand, has I formulated a scheme to secure the Imperial Government's financial assistance for the Dominions during I war time. He arranged a deputation to Mr. Lloyd George, Chancellor of the Exchequer, in which South Africa and Canada joined, but Australia did not participate. After discussion with Mr. Lloyd George and the. governor of the Bank of England, the Chancellor agreed to meet the deputation's wishes. The Government agreed to guarantee the Bank of England for money required by Canada, South Africa and New Zealand, an amount to be included in the next Imperial war loan. The scheme secures money at a rate not. exceeding 4.1 per cent. South Africa has received seven millions, and it is understood that New Zealand has received two millions. Canada has also received assistance. COMMONWEALTH STATES. EXPECT SAME TREATMENT. Sydney, October 29. The Assembly yesterday passed a Month's Supply'Bill. Mr. J. H. Cann, State Treasurer, in explaining the Bill, said that all the States and the Commonwealth were negotiating loans in London. There were fair average prospects of success, and the State might reasonably expect the same treatment as the other dependencies.
