ARBITRATION COURT.
SITTINGS RESUMED NEXT WEEK.
The Auckland sittings of the Arbitration Court will be resumed on Monday and will continue throughout the week. The sittings were interrupted on October 3 through Mr. .Justice Stringer having to leave for Wellington to preside over the commission appointed to regulate the prices of foodstuffs. On Monday several compensation cases will be heard, including Ford v. White Pine Timber Company, Mahoney v. Waihi Grand Junction, and McSorley v. Richardson. On the following day the Carpenters and Joiners' Union have a case set down for hearing, and the compensation case Buckle v. Brodie will also be heard. An application for an interpretation of the Seamen and Firemen's agreement is to be heard on Wednesday. Mr. McGregor appears for the Northern Steamship Company, Mr. B. Wyman for the Auckland 'Seamen and Firemen's Union, a.nd Sir John Findlay and Mi. A. E. i Skelton for the Australasian Federated Seamen. The case Cullen v. Northern Steamship Company will also be mentioned. Additional compensation cases will be heard on Thursday and Friday, in addition to an application to add parties to the I Hamilton Drivers' Award.
