BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY.
'Ihe sharcmarket was quiet again yesterday, although prices for some of the leading mining stocks were firmer than of late. In standard stocks, Bank of New Zealands (fully paid) were in demand at £15 2s 6d. National Banks were quoted by buyers at £5 3s. Business in New Zealand Insurances took place at £5 12s. South British Insurances were looked for at 80s 6d. Of the mining lines, Waihis were done at 34s and 34a 6d, sellers closing at 34s 9d. Talismans were available at 27s 6d, and a sale was reported at 27s 3d. Waihi Grand Junctions were firm at 24s 6d. AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.
