SHORT HOLIDAY SITTING.

The Police Court sal an horn- earlier than ! usual yesterday morning, only a few minor ' cases being dealt with by Messrs. W. j D'Arcv Hamilton and W. J. II am mill,! J.l'.'s. Two first offenders, convicted of I insobriety, were discharged with a caution, while an absent first offender forfeited his bail of £1. Several other cases were remanded until to-day in order that they may be dealt with hv a magistrate. William Thomas Jackson, who had been found asleep on the verandah of the Dilworth Institute., admitted a charge of vagrancy, in view of his past record he I was sentenced to three months' imprison- i ment with hard labour.
