[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN COHRESPOXD JXT.] Wellington, Saturday. Though Sir Knox has once or twice .during his career suffered from leg trouble, he has always run his best races on very hard tracks. The going at Trentham to-day was quite to his liking, and having the good fortune to draw No. 1 position at the barrier, ho jumped away smartly and led from en>. to end. In view of his past record at Trentham, it was surprising to find that a dozen other candidates in tho race were preferred to him. Tannhauser. the actual favourite, was never very prominent, and the second favourite. Rone, got away from the barrier badly. Haskayne, Moutoa Girl, and , Mnniaroa. were turned the wrong way when the tapes lifted, and never had a chance. Bleriot did not go to the post.
