The half-yearly report of the Colonial Bank of Australia shows a. net profit to September 30 'of £28,224, and to this there is added a balance brought forward of £4485. A dividend of 7 per cent, is recommended ; with an addition to the reservo of £10,000, and a balance to be car--1 tied forward of £6354. LONDON MARKETS. Brokers discussed the suggestion, but decided to make no recommendation. BUTTER. Danish butter is very irregular. The. official quotation is 140s to 1425. Salt butter is offered at a considerably lower price. BUTTER AND EGGS. The wholesale quotations for butter and eggs for the week ending October 31 are as follows :—Butter: Factory, Is ljd per lb : farmers', 8d per lb. Egg's, 9d per doz.
