PARLIAMENT.
RAILWAY IMPROVEMENTS. [BY TELEGRAPH.— association.] Wellington, Friday. The House met at 2.30 p.m. The Hon. Mr. Herriee moved the second reading of the Railways Improvement Authorisation Bill. The measure was debated at great length. It. was agreed that the House meet tomorrow morning at ten o'clock to consider local Bills.

NATIONAL PROVIDENT BILL.

Wellington, Friday. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. The Legislature Amendment Bill wag received from the House and read a first time
The adjourned debate upon the National Provident Fund Amendment Bill was returned by Hon. W. Earnshaw. He opposed the Bill. The Bill was read a third time by 23 votes to 2.
The Council resumed at 8 p.m. The Workers' Dwellings Amendment and Legislature Bills passed their third readings, and the Council adjourned until 10.30 a.m. on Monday. ,
