RESOLUTION TO SECEDE.

'f% A meetdcg of the council of the NewSouth Wales Amateur Athletic Associa-"-.. tion, by 16 to 9, resolved to secede from; '■£>£■ the Amateur Sporting Federation, where-' 5 - upon the chairman and secretary of the former body resigned as a protest. The proposal to secede is a long-standing - one, and arose over the federation ruling that all men participating in the Rugby League football game were professionals, .'-"■"■ whether money was obtained or not. Amongst the allegations regarding profes- '- sionalism made was that three members ■ the " All Black " team were professional *: runners. ■ v.£V The meeting subsequently discussed the : formation of a new body to control the : ■ Amateur Athletic Union in Australia, : New Zealand, it was thought, was unlikely' - to recognise such a body, and nothing was done.
