THE TROUBLE AT VANCOUVER. A party of Hindoos arrived at Vanceri ver some months ago by the Japan*,, steamer Komagata Maru. They wers denied a landing by the Canadian Iron,; gration Department, whereupon serious trouble arose. The new arrivals were forced to remain on the vessel by which they had sailed, and several encounters took .place between them and the author! ties after the officers had left the shin" Eventually the Hindoos were persuaded by their compatriots in Vancouver to submit to the inevitable, and they were taken back to India. Riots occurred there when they landed, and a Government in. quiry into the matter was promised.
