OTAHUHU STREETS.
The Otahuhu Borough Council recently spent several hundred pounds in putting the main streets of the borough in order. As there is now a good surface on all the roads the Mayor, Mr. A. Sturges. advised the council that, it "would be a wise policy to have the thoroughfares sprayed with tar in order to preserve the surface. The next question to be considered was tho method of spraying and the combination of tar which should be used, lesterday, therefore, the members of the Borough Council, including the Mayor, .Messrs. K. L. Absolum, A. Lowe, J. Wilson, W. MeMullen, W. J. O'Hara, and the town clerk, Mr A. Ross, toured Auckland and Newmarket to ascertain what had been done in these areas in the way of tar-spraying.
