ST. GEORGES CLUB. The thirty-first annual meeting of the St. George's Rowing Club was held in the clubhouse, and considering that fully 25 per cent, of the members had joined the expeditionary force, the meeting was well attended. The commodore. Mr. G. Gore-Gillon, presided. Tho annual report and balance-sheet referred to points of special interest, and congratulated the club on its financial position Reference was also made to the sad and untimely end of Mr. A. J. McKim. a club member, who was the unfortunate manager of the White Island Sulphur Works. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron. Mr. J. H. B. Coates; vice-patron. Hon. S. Thome George, M.L.C.; commodore. Mr, G. Gore-Gillon-, vice-commodores, last year's list re-elected with the addition of Messrs. C J Parr. C.M.G.. and U. W. Hudson: captain, Mr. G. V. Aimer; deputycpatain. Mr. A. B. Roscoe; secretary, Mr F. 8. Gonlding; treasurer. Mr. J. H. Murphy, committee, Messrs. H. Slater. A. Linton, K- W. Aimer, A. J. Emery, and A M Gouldin.g: auditors, Messrs. C. E. Palmer and A. G. Palmer. An important alteration was made to the rules, which provides for youths joining without the burden of an entrance fee. After discussing the probable position of the club should the railway pass along .Judge's Bay, and after drawing attention to the great number of the club's members who have joined the expeditionary force, the meeting closed.
