AUCKLAND AMATEUR CLUB. SUCCESSFUL SEASON. Soma 30 membors attended the annual meeting of the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club last evening. In the absence of the president, Lieutenant-Colonel A. Pluggo, one of the vice-patrons, Mr. 1. J. Ohlson, presided. , , , The annual report and balance-sheet, which were adopted, showed that the past season had been a successful one in all respects. The receipts for the year were £1-1 Ob Bd, including £11 6s lid brought forward from the previous season. Ihero were 10J active and 30 honorary members, contributing £40 15s, while tho expenditure was £87 6s Gd, leaving a balanco of £3*l lis 2d. Ho staled that 'he Labour Day sports in the Domain were under tho auspices of tlie Northern Athletic Union, a body which had broken away from his union. His centre had decided to hold a : rival meeting on the same day, in Victoria I Park, and ho askod their support of this I meeting. Ho claimed that the northern | body could not possibly survive, and urged i as a further reason for supporting the New Zealand Union that there was a reciprocal I arrangement between his union and the union ! to which members belonged, by which each i body recognised the other's disqualifications.
