GEI!MAX DEBTS IN ENGLAND OVER SIXTY MILLION. London, September 29. The Evening News states that it is r. f imat<-d that German firms are in debt to English firms to the extent of £60,000,000. Tho paper suggests that the bank, under a Government guarantee, should advance money on account until the end of the war, when the German Government should be made responsible for the collection and repayment of the debts.
GERMAN AUSTRALIAN LINE AGREEMENTS TERMINATE. London, September 29. The directors of the Commonweal and Dominion Shipping Line, in a letter to the newspapers, state that on the outbreak of war their agreements with tho Hai.sa and Dentsch Australischo Shipping Lines terminated. The Loudon Tunes, commenting on the letter, states that neither the Common Line nor its agents had any intention of conserving German shipping interests, but were acting sol< 1 in the interests of British shipping.
