PERSONAL ITEMS.
Capt. _T. Sharp, of the Pacific Cable Board's steamer Iris, was landed at Suva last week seriously indisposed. The vessel was navigated to Auckland by Captain W. R. Holmes, the chief officer.
The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey, left Wellington by the express last evening for Auckland, 'in order to bo present at a review of troops at the Domain this afternoon. He is expected to leave for Wellington again this evening.
Mr. J. H. Gunson, chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, who went to Wellington for the purpose of giving evidence on the board's Empowering Bill before the Local Bills Committee, left for Auckland again last evening as the sitting of the committee has been adjourned until next week.
Mr. John Milward, of Sydney, manager in the Pacific for the Pacific Cable Board, frrived in Auckland by the board's repair steamer Iris yesterday. Mr. Milward has been on a visit to England, and travelled by the Iris from Vancouver. His stay in Auckland is for an indefinite period. Mr. Milward is at the Grand Hotel.
