MEMOIRS OF SIR G. GREY.
♦ LECTURE BY HON. J. A. TOLE.
Many intimate recollections of Sir George Grey were given by the Hon. J. A. Tole, K.C., in an address to a large audience in the Leys Institute last evening. With the knowledge gained during many years of friendship and immediate association, Mr. Tole was able to portray the varied aspects in the personality of the great statesman by illustrative incidents in his public and private life. Remarks indicative of Sir George Grey's notable qualities, extracts from speeches expounding his political ideals, and anecdotes of the loyalty with which he was supported by the members of his party, were effectively combined in a thoroughly interesting discourse. At its conclusion a vote of thanks was conveyed to Mr. Tole with warm applause.
