PATRIOTIC QUEEN ELECTION.
Since tho commencement of the voting on Monday for the election of Patriotic, Queen., the keenest interest has beer, evinced, and the result to date is of the most satisfactory nature. The returns siiow 6uch a close contest, that, at the present rate of progress, a very exciting and decidedly interesting finish is expected. Ballot boxes have been placed at various points throughout the city, and the votes recorded are counted at- nine o'clock each morning. The following shows tho position in order of preference of the. various candidates : —First, Miss iolet Hyde: second. Mrs. W. Mussey; third, Mrs. Lester Smith; fourth. Miss Isabel Reeves: fifth. Miss Jessie Cooper sixth, Miss Catherine Robinson; seventh. Miss Eva Cooper: eighth, Miss Mascot Lewis: and ninth. Miss Lilian Hunt.
