SPREADING THE TRUTH.
GOVERNMENT CAMPAIGN.
GERMAN LIES DENIED.
(Received September 10, .10 m.)
London, September 9.
The publication of Sir Edward Grey's statements in Copenhagen is the first step in the campaign to counteract German lies. The Government is investigating the exact state of affairs in neutral countries, and is immediately contradicting fabrications.
The Daily Chronicle's correspondent at Milan reports that two German officers, ostensibly a Consul and his secretary, arrived in Tripoli in August actually on a special mission to induce leading Arabs to rise and revolt in Tunis, which is a French possession. The Egyptian police discovered the mission and deported the Germans.
People in Constantinople are now discovering the falseness of the war news supplied by the German news agencies, and they are besieging the embassies of Great Britain, France and Russia to ascertain the latest intelligence.
