Hongkong, August 14.
The Japanese steamer Shigamam attempted to enter the port without regard to the harbour regulations. Two shots wore sent across her bows, but the vessel still persisted on her course.
A third shot was fired at the steamer, and, striking her amidships, caused serious damage. A Government tug went to the assistance of the disabled vessel.
