HIGH PRICES IN THE STATES
PRESIDENT ORDERS INQUIRY.
APPREHENSION RELIEVED.

Washington, August 15.
The President, Mr. Woodrow Wilson, has requested the Department of Justice to investigate the increase in the prices of foodstuffs. Addressing a conference of business men called to consider present conditions in the United States, Mr. Wilson asserted that the period of apprehension is past. The. country is now able to look forward to the future with confidence.
