DIVORCE CASES HEARD. WIFE WHO RAN AWAY FROM HOME. Several divorce cases were dealt with by His Honor Mr. Justice Cooper at tho Supremo Court on Saturday.

Robert Hisshion, of Auckland (Mr. J. R. Lundon) applied for a divorce from Hilda Hisshion on account of her alleged

misconduct with Georgo Powell. The petitioner stated that ho married his wife at Waihi in 1909. Soon afterwards sho endeavoured to run away, but ho brought her back. Later they removed to Auckland, and on two further occasions tho respondent ran, away, but notwithstanding the fact thai sho had gono to livo with another man ho had taken her back. Finally, some 18 months ago, sho disappeared once more. A witness stated that sho had

traced PoweU, who was the father of her four children, to Clovedon, whero ho was living with tho respondent.

A decree nisi was granted.

CORROBORATION WANTED.

Desertion formed the ground for the application of Elizabeth Jane Hoskins (Mi. J. R. Lundon) for a divorce from William Henry Hoskins. Tho petitioner stated that her marriage took place in 1892, and added that in 1899 her husband disappeared, eventually being arrested at the South Sea Islands. Ho was then brought back to Auckland, and sentenced to five years' imprisonment. When ho was released ho refused to set up a home, and since 1913 the petitioner had not scon him. The case was adjourned to enable corroborative evidence to bo given. MISCELLANEOUS. 4 Emily Ruth Speight (Mr. Anderson) applied for the dissolution of her marriage with Benjamin Speight on tho ground that the latter was an habitual inebriate, and had failed to provide for the maintenance of his children. Tho petitioner stated that Speight was addicted to heavy drinking, and that she herself was frequently without money with which to secure food for the children. A decree nisi, to bo moved absolute in three months, was granted._ The petition of William Frederick Morgan (Mr. T. N. Holmdcn) for a divorce from Lilian May Morgan, and in which Achilee Campi (Mr. J. R. Lundon) was cited as co-respondent, was withdrawn. Costs on the highest scalo wero allowed against tho petitioner, _ Tho case in which James Irvine sued for a divorce from Catherine Irvine on tho "round of desertion, was adjourned for a"week to enable a marriago certificate to bo produced.
