London, August 15.
The British Embassy at Rome is chartering Italian ships for the convenience of British subjects who wish to return to England or the dominions.
It is reported that the Russian Consul-General at Frankfort was beaten, kicked, and forced to uncovor his head and bow before the statue of Germania.
A Rhine steamer, carrying British and American tourists, near Cologne, was searched, an 'J 50 men were separated from their wives and held at hostages without explanation. It is supposed fchr.t this is in retaliation for England detaining German reservists.
Many Germans are publishing legal notices in the English newspapers of changes of their surnames to Anglicised forms.
Paris, August 15.
All Englishmen between 15 and 44 years of age, including tourists, who are detained in Germany, have been forced to assist in getting in the harvest.
