A suggestion has bcon made that the Commonwealth should offer to Britain 1,000,000 carcases of frozen mutton. One firm has offered to provide 500 carcases.

METAL PRICES ERRATIC. London, August 12. Prices of metals are very erratic. popper ranges from £60 to £61 per J°n; tin, £139 to £141 per ton; ad, £23 to £21; spelter, about £30.
