The following is a complete list, as far as can be ascertained, of the warships of ' the Triple Entente and Triple Alliance in Pacific waters. The German cruiser Emden and the Russian cruiser Askold, which' are reported to have sunk each other at ■ Wei-hai-wei, are not included. The whereabouts of the German squadron ii - not definitely known. Normally the only. '■■■~ Gorman .warships in mid-Pacific or Australasian waters are the cruisers Condor and; Cormorant, and the surveying ship Planet-. The Condor and the Cormorant are used'C for Datrol duty in the islands of the Bismarck Archipelago, and are sister ships. Both are third-class cruisers of 1614 tons. It has, however, been reported that tl* Gneisenau, Scharnhort, and Numberf, which have never before come into: tta:«
