BOMBARDMENT OF LIEGE.
FORTS STILL EFFECTIVE. (R«c«ivod August 18, 9.10 p.m.) Brussels, August 13. Indignation has been aroused by the fact that the Kaiser has decorated General Von Emmich osten-
sibly for capturing the Liege forts. The bombardment of the forts has been resumed.
The Germans, crossing the Meuse by a bridge, have established themselves at Fexhe, five miles north of Liege. Other convoys are crossing further to the south. The- Liege forts are covering the German routes. ''
'. The Belgian War Office announces that the retreating movement which the Germans commenced yesterday has become more pronounced. It seems as though the chief of staff were hesitating to give battle.
It is officially stated that artillery fire destroyed a German battery near Sprimon't, ten miles south-east of Liege. The French captured three field guns and three Maxims.
