SHOOTING AFFAIR,
HUSBAND AND WIFE.
BOTH IN THE HOSPITAL.

I Wellington, Thursday. ! A shooting affray occurred at a houso in Clyde Quay this evening, where an elderly man named William Mullins and his wife rented a flat. It is said that whet! leaving the house to go to M&kara, whore bo had obtained work, Mullins fired two shots . from a revolver at his wife, both striking her in tho forehead. I She mado her way into a room occupied by a woman boarder, and Mullins is alleged to have followed her, firing another shot, which did not take effect. ITo then rushed downstairs, and, it is stated, turned the weapon on himself. Roth are now in the hospital in a critical I condition.
It is stated that Mullins had not obtained much work sinco his arrival from England recently, and that his wife had urged him to seek employment.
