Forty-seven' thousand men are now enlisting daily' in Earl Kitchener's second army. The mobilisation of the territorials is completing every unit up to the establishment. Many units have accepted liability to serve overseas, and others are being asked to follow their example. PRINCE'S FUND GROWING. .ENTHUSIASM IN INDIA. FOREIGN * LEGION FORMING. London, August 11. The Prince' of Wales's War Fund now totals £050,000. Fresh offers of support are being received from tho Indian Native States. Enthusiastic meetings aro being held everywhere in India. In order to allay rumours the South African Government has issued a messago to the natives explaining the facts of the war. Sir R. Munro Ferguson, Gover-nor-General of Australia, has offered Haith House, his seat in Kirkcaldy, as a hospital. Lady Islington, wife of the former Governor of New Zealand, has ' offered her London residence as a hospital for New Zealanders if required. She is also willing to assist in hospital work. Five hundred men have already enlisted in '.' the British Foreign . Legion, included among the number being three Russian princes and several Italian officers. The Danish residents are organising a corps. '• A Times correspondent suggests that members of the House of Commons should take half pay, following the precedent of the Japanese Diet during the Russo-Japanese war. ~"' TROOPS FROM CANADA. It is understood that the ships are intended to carry troops and reservists from Canada , to England.' \. Owing to the rush to enlist the Ottawa authorities are raising the - .standard, and only picked troops .will be sent from Canada. ' :Mr.. Patrick Burns,, a "cattle king," of Calgary, offers £10,000 to equip a contingent of Legion of Frontiersmen.
