DISTRIBUTION OF NEWS.
UNREASONABLE DELAY.
London, August 10. Speaking in the House of Com* raons, Mr. T. P. O'Connor, M.P., called attention to the unreason* able delay in the cables from abroad, due to the inadequate assistance given to the cable offices by the censors.
Mr. Reginald McKenna, Homo Secretary, agreed that it was essential that there should be some journalistic common sense in regard to the censorship, and messages should not lie stopped simply from ' the ignorance of the censor.
The Times issues a warning in view of the absence of any independent communication between Gcr« many and Great Britain, that despatches originating in Germany must be regarded with suspicion, as they arc calculated by the German Government to produce in England an ''impression favourable to Germany.
