Sydcty, July 16. A DEVELOPMENT of a somewhat sensational nature has taken place in connection with the death of the girl, Gertie McAlister, on a station near Yass.

A piece of paper has been found near the body, upon which were written the words, "No one in this house is to blame. The girl deceived me. The police anticipate an early arrest.

At the inquest the girl's father gave evidence that his daughter had no lovers and no enemies.

Mcßean, the owner of tlio station, stated that he saw the deceased alive at 6.30 p.m. At 8.30 he heard two gunshots, and rushed to the kitchen, where ho found the girl lying on the floor lifeless. " '. "

Tho doctors are of opinion that the shots were fired from tho back, and that it was impossible that they were self-inflicted. It is believed that the girl was murdered. The inquest was adjourned.
