GOLF.
CAMBRIDGE CHAMPIONSHIPS. [bt telegraph.—own comiesfondknt.] Cambridge, Wednesday. The final of the A grade championship was played to-day over 36 holes between A. H. Nicoll and M. Wells. Keen interest was shown in the match. Wells was practically in the lead throughout tho first 27 holes, at which stage he was 1 up. Nicoll played more accurately in the last round, winning 5 holes out of 7, and ending tho winner by 3 up and 2 to play. Wells failed in his short game at the critical stages, though he has oeen particularly good in this respect recently, Nicoll won the local championship four years ago, and has played consistently ever since.
Tho final of the B grade championship will be played on Snturday between B. S. Couper and A. Willis.
