PIGEON-SHOOTING.
<t> PUKEKOHE MATCHES. [by telegraph.— correspondent.] Pukekohe, Wednesday. Ukde:s the auspices of the Pukekohe Gun Club, a two days' pigeon-shooting mata' was completed yesterday. In addition to. mombers of the local and Tuakau Clubs, visitors were present from Auckland and Karangahake. The Pukekoha Gun Club's open handicap was won by G. Clarke, 10yds, and A. E. Dare, 10yds, both of Karangahake, who divided the first and second prize-money, totalling £25. S. Seccombe, Auckland, 14yds, won the third prize of £3, and C. Shepherd, Karangahake, 12yds, won the fourth of £2. A sweepstake of six birds off the 12yds mark was won by C. Naylor, Karangahake, W. Woodward, Waiuku, being second, A second sweepstake of five birds off the 12yds' mark was won by J. Burgess, Karangahake, J. Wright, Pukekohe, being and C. Shepherd, Karangahake, i third. j Four matches, each being of five birds 1 off the 12yds mark, for trophies presented by the club, were won respectively by C Naylor (2), C. Mead, C. Shepherd, all of Karangahake. A friendly match between members of the Pukekohe and Karangahake Clubs, 11 men a-Bide and 12 birds off the 12yds mark, was won by Karangahake by two biids.
The visiters were entertained on Tuesday evening by the local club at a smoke concert.
