SCOTTISH CHAMPION BEATEN.
WIN FOR BANDSMAN RICE.

A match between Bandsman Rico and l3an Goldrich, boxing champion of Scotland, resulted in a win for the former on points, after tho full 15 rounds. PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. Tho provincial championship carnival of the Northern Boxing Association will bo commenced at the Town Hall this evening. Record entries have been recoived, and patrons of tho sport should, therefore, find much to interest and amuse them. Tho carnival will bo continued to-morrow evening. PROFESSIONALS COMING FROM AUSTRALIA. Mr. T. C. R. Thatcher, the Northern Association's representative, returned from Sydney yesterday, accompanied by tho professional boxer Regie Air. Thatcher has made arrangements with a number of professional boxers of the first flight to visit Auckland, and in this connection will report to the association at its first meeting.
