UNTIMELY DEATHS.
UNEXPLAINED FATALITY.. [BI telegraph.—press association.] " . Ddneddj, Friday. A married man named William Samson, 47 years of age, was found dead inside his gate at Bumside about eight o'clock last evening by his five-year-old-daughter. He had motored from Caversham late in the afternoon. One theory is that the deceased fell after alighting from the car and struck his head on a paling fence.

BRIDGE-BUILDER'S DEATH.

CimisTcncncH, Friday. A fatal accident occurred yesterday in North Canterbury. A labourer named R. Crump, working on a bridge which is being erected between 'Ha warden and Hurunui, fell off a derrick and sustained severe concussion of the brain. He was taken to the Hawarden nursing home, whets he died early this morning.. •
