There are two ways of putting money into the farmers' pocket by manuring. One is to apply tho manure direct to a crop which may bo sold | tna other is to stimulate pasture so that bettor returns are obtained from stock. In the latter case there arc innumerable experiments ta support tho advantage gained—substantial increases aro recorded whew the pastaro has been sustained bv a well-devised system of manuring. Basic slag invariably pays handsomely in those tests,
