INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION.
BRAND FOR NEW ZEALAND GOODS. | Tire general committco of the Auckland Industrial Association met yesterday afternoon. Present: Messrs. B. Buttle, in the chair, A. McColl, H. Dearsly, F. M. Hills, J. Wilson, J. W. Wiseman, A. N. Bell; A. McCosh Clark, and W. Parkinson. The matter of the adoption of a brand to distinguish all goods made in New Zealand was brought before the meeting by a request from the conference that discussed the proposal recently. This conference requested the association to call a meeting of representatives of all trades and people affected by the proposal in Auckland, so that a scheme might bo formulated wiih a view to the calling of a Dominion conference. It was decided to defer consideration of the matter until the next meeting, and to make further inquiries in regard to the scheme in the meantime. On the suggestion of Mr. McColl, it was decided to write to the' Prime Minister asking him whether he intends to bring the Afforestation Commission's report before Parliament this session. • Five new members were elected.
