AMERICAN MEAT PACKERS.
London, July 1. The professor of agriculture at Melbourne University, Dr. Cherry, has returned to London from a two months' visit to the packinghouse and corn belt in the 'United States. He was much impressed with the efficiency of the Federal system of inspection obtaining in the huge meat works in Chicago, Omaha, and Kansas. Dr. Cherry particularly noticed what ho described as the intense cleanliness prevailing in these establishments, and the use that was found for all by-products.
