CONFERENCE OF OFFICERS.

Wellington', Wednesday. The conference of the n embors of the headquarters and district staffs of the Defence Forces has concluded. MajorGeneral Sir Alexander Godley stated that particular attention was given to the discussion of Sir lan Hamilton's report. The question of having concentrations instead of drill for country units was considered at length, and particular attention was paid to matters of reorganisation and improvement, as suggested in the report. MUSKETRY INSTRUCTION. [HT TF.LEGR.irH.— ASSOCIATION.] Wellington*, Wednesday. The military authorities have decided to adhere to last year's musketry course and to proceed with the instruction of senior cadets and territorials this year accordingly. In making this announcement to a reporter to-day, Colonel Heard, chief of the general staff, statei' that it had been decided to make no alteration in the present system, as it had been found satisfactory by the musketry instructors in conference. This decision, added Colonel Heard, had been approved by MajorGeneral Sir Alexander Godley.
