TENDENCY TO DRIFT.

Berlin, June 28. The Catholic Union to-day .presented an address to Cardinal Gasquet, who in reply said: "The world seems destined to drift further from Christian ideas upon which civilisation is founded. Outside the Catholic faith the tendency is toward absolute vagueness and uncertainty on the part of those who continue to believe anything at all of the truths of Christianity."
