AVONDALE MAN MISSING.

SEARCH BEING MADE.

DISPOSITION OF PROPERTY.

As elderly man, named Thomas Webb, a market gardener, has been missing from his home in Rosebank Road, Avondale, whore ho lived by himself, since Thursday overling, pd considerable anxiety is felt oil his' behalf in the district. In conjunction with Constable Reed, of Ayondale, they broke in the door of hijj house, and on the kitchen table they found tho 1 deeds of his property and his will, which had been made on Tuesday last. There was also a note staling whero his money would be found. The constable took charge of all tho documents and money.

A search of tho grounds gave no clue, and a number of residents made a systematic search of the neighbourhood until darkness set in. Tho search was continued throughout yesterday, nearly half the male population of the district taking part. Tho newly-formed troop of hoy scouts also turned out, searching along the tidal creeks of the neighbourhood, but no signs of .missing man were discovered up to a late hour last evening. The search will be resumed to-day. The missing man is a very old settler in the district, and was well liked. His description is as follows Age, 65; height, sft llin; very heavy black moustache, tinged with grey; and his right foot is deformed. When last seen Webb was wearing his working clothes and a heavy pair of blucher boots.
