FRANCE'S NAVAL POWER.
TREND OF THE POLICY.
MEDITERRANEAN CONTROL,

■> Paeis, Juno 26. During the Senate's discussion of the Naval Estimates yesterday Senator Chautemps, of tho Naval Committee, reported that the principal object of France's policy was to bo assured at all costs the control of the Mediterranean for herself and her allies. It was necessary to prevent Germany being able to revict'ual the Italian and Austrian forts.
At present the French fleet was equal to tho united Austro-Italian fleets, and it was necessary to raise the battle fleet from 28 to 33 in order to gain superiority.
