AUCKLAND CLUB.

I The beautiful weather of Saturday tempted [ a. largo number of players out to Middlemore, and they were well rewarded with t, good afternoon's golf. Over 80 players took part in the mixed foursomes bogey handicap, but with the exception of tho winners. Miss M. I'ayton and H. C- Tonka, and the runners-up, Hiss H. Payton and A, M. Clark, the rest of the field found " Colonel Bogey " a (ar too oluaire gentleman, and consequently very few cards were returned. The beat wero:—Miss M- Payton and H. C. Tonka (with 11 strokes handicap), all square; Miss S. Payton and A. M, Clark (111, 1 down, Miss Draper and P. Dutlue HBl, 3 down, Mies Roid and 8. Upton (17), 4 down. Mrs and D. MacCoraick (14), 6 down; Misa S and H. Henderson (17), 6 down; Miss l'h: son and W. S- Ralph (11), 7 down; Mies Crowther and E. Hickeon (12). 8 down; Misa Hellaby and F. G. Binney (18), 9 down. Dawson Invit A Murison, 4 up and 3 to pljy, and W iiGrace beat F. Duthic, 2 up and 1 to (•!,,v, in the semi-final of the B grade of tne cniV tain's prize. Both matches were keen'-/ contested throughout. Dawson's esrerien'-i. carried him through in his game v.ah Murison, to whom he conceded two strokes Ho took tho lead early in the game, and was two up at the third hole, but Murison had ovorhaulcd him nt tho sixth. The latter found trouble at the seventh, and Dawson was D up again at the ei:;hih h'tic. with a well-played 4. With the aid of a stroke allowance at tho next, and had piling on Dawson's part at the tenth hoV, Murison once more drew level, but failing to carry the gully with his second at th.< next coat him the hole. Dawson played short and won in 6. Dawson increased lin lead with wins in fives at the twelfth and thirteenth, and holed an eight-yard putt for half in a like number of strokes Another C to Murison's 6 enabled him to finish the match on the fifteenth green. Grace and Duthio aro on the same handicap, and neither was at any period more than 2 up. The game was started at the fifteenth, which went to Duthio in five, but Grace made it all square in one stroke lev.' at the next, and the seventeenth was halved in sixes. Duthio found trouble at the hedge, and the eighteenth went to Grace, who increased his lead to 2up at the first with au excellent 3. Duthie, however, won three out of the succeeding four holes, and became 1 up, but a well-piayod 4 by Grace at the sixth made the game all square. CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP. The first round of the club championship will bo played nest Saturday. Entries close a! noon on Thursday. The draw will be made immediately alter the dosing of the ontrios. MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB. The semi-finals for the captain's prize were played by members of tho Maungakiekie Golf Club on Saturday. R. George boat N. P. Green, 2 up, and M. E. Ward beat J. M. Saunders, 3 up and 1 to play. A bogey handicap was played in conjunction with this match and was won by M. K. Ward with a score of 3 down. Other cards wero as follow:—G. Morris, 4 down; T. Morris, 5 down' J. C. Wilson, 6 down; H. 0. Rees. 7 down; G. L Taylor, 7 down; D. F. Reid, 8 down: F'. W. Dawson, 9 down. The first round for the Gardner cup will be played next Saturday. Entries will closc at noon to-morrow. WAITEMATA CLUB. The members or the Waitcmata Golf Club played a bogey handicap on Saturday for the captain's prize. Tho event was won by A. W.
