CANADA STANDS FIRM.

THE HINDOO QUESTION.

NO ADMITTANCE AT ALL. PROJECTED DEPORTATION. By Telegraph— Association—Copyright. Ottawa, June 25. The Premier (Mr. R. L. Borden) gives an absolute denial to the story that the Hindoos will be allowed to land, stating that tho provisions of tho law in regard to the Hindoos would be strictly enforced. Late last evening Mr. .H. H. Stevens for Vancouver) sent out a proposal which had apparently been agreed upon between himself and the immigration inspector, to ship tho entire party away by tho Empress of India, which leaves Vancouver to-day.

Tho proposition was virtually to " shanghai" the Hindoos aboard the Komagata Maru on to the Empress, of India.

Mr. Stevens and Mr. Reid apparently had the plan well arranged, for telegrams suggested that they would attend to tho details if tho Government would authorise the expenditure of £3600 necessary for the tickets of, t'_j party aboard the Empress.

It is understood that it was planned that tho C.P.R. liner would leave the wharf at the usual time of departure, and draw alongside the Komagata Maru.

Mr. Borden and officials of tho Department considered the proposition, but no official intimation or instructions sent to Vancouver have been announced. .

It has been learned that the plan was not adopted- The Government will not seek to detain the Empress of India.
