Mr. A. B. J. Irvine, manager of the Auckland branch of the Union Steamship Company, left by the Manuka for Sydney on Moitdav evening, on a holiday visit to New South Watys, Brisbane, and Tasmania. Mr. Irvine will be absent for about six weeks, and during that timo Mr. M. Rudd will take over the management of the office.
News'has been received by cablegram of tho death of Mrs. J. F. Logan, at her residence in Sutton, Surrey. For several years a resident of Devonport, the late Mrs.. Logan had for tho last 18 years livi;d in England. Her activities in Sutton, which included! work among the poor, brought her in contact with a large numher of people, and her circle of friends was wide. Mrs. Logan is survived by one daughter. Her brother, Mr. C. A. Brown, is a'director of the firm of Macky, Logan, and Caldwell, Ltd.
