MARRIAGE A FAILURE.
ANOTHER DIVORCE- CASE.
An unhappy story was related to His Honor Mr. Justice Cooper at the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon by Ellen Kirk, boardinghouse-keeper, of Newmarket, who Bought a dissolution of her marriage to Alexander Kirk, a cooper ..trade. Mr. W. ■A. Black appeared for petitioner. ' The parties' were ; married at Newton on January 15, 1898, the petitioner being ifien' a widow with ■ one i child. Prior to marrying .Kirk she had kept a \ laundry. In evidence, she stated that she and' her: husband . lived together in Auckland for about eight years. During the/first weekof their; wedded .life • respondent only brought her 153 with which to keep the house, ■<" Thereupon v. petitioner ;•■'. resumed operations at: tho laundry, getting back her , customers., For two years respondent provided her with an average .of £2 :■ per week, but after that his contributions towards the ~ housekeeping only averaged 2s 6d per week."
