QUEEN STREET TRAMWAY EXTENSION.
Sir,—l have noted with interest that an agreement has at last been arrived at between the City Council and the Auckland Tramways Company with regard to the above extension. This being the case, I think it only fair to the public that a definite announcement should be made as to when the work will be proceeded with and upon what date the extension may bo expected to be opened. Many thousands of citizens are interested in Chip matter, especially tho&a who are subscribers to societies giving performances in tut Town Hall, and it is generally felt that this important extension should have been completed long since. Instead of pushing it through, the council has gone on with other schemes. The copy.-book says: " One thing at a time, and that done well," etc. and it is to be hoped that tho council will concentrate upon this Queen Street extension (which must have been before it for tho last three years) until it is an accomplished fact. * A.B.
