IDLE AND DISORDERLY.
"I had a sprained ankle last time;' said John Haves alias Thompson, an ablebodied man. who was charged with his gecond offence of being idle and disorderly. "And what have you got this time?". asked the magistrate. The accused admitted that he was in good? health, and went on to say that he had spent £50 at Christmas. "It will be tha last time," he pleaded. "I can't pass it over, seeing that it is your second offence," said Hr. Grazer, _who entered a sentence of one month's imprisonment. ALLEGED ABDUCTION. A young man named William Roycroffe was charged with having -taken a girl, under 18 years of age, from her home at Kirikiri, against the will of her father. Ho was remanded to appear at Thames a week hence. INSOBRIETY. Two first offenders wero each fined 5s for drunkenness. Another, who did not appear, was fined £1. the amount of his bail. Tmomas Roberts pleaded guilty to his third offence of drunkenness, and to a charge of having used obscene language. He was fined £2, and was prohibited. Annie Brown was fined £1 lor breaking her prohibition order.
