UNDER LEAGUE RULES.

NOTES AND COMMENTS. The Auckland Rugby League, at its meeting on Wednesday night, decided to send Mr. A. Powell back again as delegate to the New Zealand Council. Other officers elected were Messrs. R. A. Spinley, secretary; Mr. Culpan, treasurer; and Mr. ]!. Mac Donald, solo selector. Certain members of the Auckland executive, which waa recently disqualified by the New Zealand Council, have applied through their clubs for reinstatement. The Otahuhu Club has nominated Mr. J. o'Connell as its delegate to the Auckland

League, while Mr. W. Knox has' been selected by the Sunnyside. Club as it« auditor. The Auckland League on Wednesday, after considering taesc two cases, forwarded them on to the New Zealand Council, stating in the former case that it could not recommend Mr. O'Conneli's reinstatement, and in the latter case recommending that Mr. Knox's disqualification be not uplifted. The N3W Zealand Council has already considered the matter, and will probably come to a decision next Monday evening. In connection with the Sunnyside Club, the Auckland League further decided that it could not accept the delegate nominated by the club. The' applications of both the Otahuhu and Sunnyside Clubs for permission to enter; for the senior competitions were held over till next meeting, to allow evidence to be i brought forward regarding the calibre of the club's players. I The Newton Club forwarded to the! Auckland League, at its last meeting, its 1 list of officers, with an assurance of the club's loyal support to the league and to the New Zealand Council. The Grafton Athletic Club expects to J be able to place a strong team in the field! this year, and has hopes of being in the j position to travel to Christchurch at the ] end of the 6eason, in quest of the Thacker | Shield. Amongst the members are such' wel-known players as Harold Rowe. K. Ifwersen, D. Dawson, R. Edwards. Chapman (Wellington), E. McDonald, Kenealy, Roope, Rtitledco (Wellington), and Armitage, an English player. The Richmond Club has affiliated with Grafton as a thirdgrade team, and altogether the new club's initial year should he a good one. The annual meeting of the New Zealand League will be held on April 30.

THE ASSOCIATION GAME. Y.M.C.A. CLUB. The Y.M.C.A. senior team will play a match against H.M.S. Philomel on No. 2 irronnd at Bayswater. at 3 p.m. to-day. The following will represent Y.MC.A.: — T'ljnv. Randam. J. V. Hanna, Crocker, Wylie, Poor, Tcmperton, Williams. Cox; Jackson. Dalton; emergencies, Miller, O'Connell. Players will leave by the 215 boat.
