ANGRY PERUVIAN MOBS.
LIMA STREET RIOTS. GENDARMES CALLED OUT. RIFLES AND SABRES USED* Times and Sydney Sun Services. (Received March 20, 5.20 p.m.) Lima, March 19. Lively scenes were witnessed here yesterday, mobs of people opposing Don Leguia, who is a candidate for the Presidency in succession to Don Billinghurst, recently deposed, discharging firearms in the streets. The demonstrations became so threatening that the gendarmes had to fire several volleys at the rioters and charge with their sabres.
