HARBOUR BOARD PICNIC.

The eighth annual picnic of the Auckland Harbour Board's employees wag held at Brown's Island on Saturday. There was an attendance of about 1500, the board being represented by Messrs. J. H. Gunson (chairman), J. H. Bradney, W. B. Leyland and H. D. Heather. The 3rd Regimental Band was present, and a most enjoyable outing resulted. The results of the various races held are as follows:—100 handicap: C. B. Bead 1, Weston 2, E. Mills 3. Bandsmen's race: Munro 1, Bartley 2. Three-legged race: Francis and Farquhar 1, Seagor and Williams 2. Married men's race: H. Flynn 1, W. Seagor 2, A. Prior 3. Ladies' race (under 17 years): Miss C. Dowd 1, Miss Flynn 2. Miss O'Grady 3. Egg and spoon race: Miss D. Payne 1, Mrs. Ferris 2, Mrs. Bryant 3. Married ladies' race: Mrs. Cleaver 1, Mrs. Lewis 2, Mrs. Niien 3. Sack race: Swinton 1, Davis 2. A.H.B. championship: C. B. Reid 1, Weston 2, H. Flynn 3. Employees wives' racj: Mrs. Donovon 1, Mrs Niien 2, Mrs. Clare 2. Old men's race (over 50 years): Beagles 1, Watkins 2, G. Raynea 3. Committeemen's race: G. Gilmour 1, H. J. Hall 2, P. Shields 3. Ladies's race (over 17 years): Miss A. Lewis 1, Miss H. Lindfoot 2, Miss Whittaker 3. Visitors' handicap: 8. Shaw 1, Casey 2. Officials' race: J. H. Gunson 1, H. B. Burnett 2, J. H. Bradney 3. Mr. J. H. Gunson donated a silver oup, valued at five guineas,, to be competed for annually in tho 440 yds championship.
