SEIZURE OF TIMBER.
CONSIGNMENT AT PAEROA.

P aero a, Friday. On Tuesday a quantity of timber, estimated at about thirty-seven thousand feet, was seized at Paeroa by Constable Miles, under instructions from the Commissioner of Crown Lands at Auckland.
The timber, which consists of some splendid mangaio, is alleged to have been illegally rait from a Crown forest in the district, and will probably form the subject of a prosecution to be initiated.
