GREY LYNN PETITION.
A movement has been started with a view to amalgamating the borough of Grey Lynn with the city. With this object in view a house-to-house canvass is in progress for the purpose of obtaining signatures to a petition asking that the district be amalgamated. In view of the petition Mr. J. W. Tattersfield has given notice of his intention to move at the next meeting of the Grey Lynn Borough Council, " That in order to allow the electors of the district to decide the question instead of a Government Commission, the" council should proceed to take a poll of the electors on the question as to whether the j Grey Lynn district shall become amalgamated with the City of Auckland or retain its constitution as a borough."
